Gardiner's Handmade Confectionery

Established in the 1960’s but the grandfather of the current owner, Gardiners is a third-generation family business. Daniel Gardiner making his own dairy ice cream to sell in his fish and chip shop in Lesmahagow, a village of some 4,000 people, located towards the south of Scotland.

The business expanded with the procurement of a couple of ice cream vans that toured the neighbouring villages to sell their ice cream in addition to the fish and chip shop and at the regular agricultural market.

Over the next thirty years the business continued to develop and expand, adding complementary products like wafers and nougats to the ice-cream, the left over product from which led the business to begin making macaroon bars, tablet and fudge. As things were gathering momentum with the confectionery business, the decision was taken to sell off the ice cream part of the business and concentrate on the sweets.

Fast forward to today, Gardiners exports its fine hand-made confectionery all over the world, finding many new fans and advocates in the process under the guidance of Tom Gardiner and his dedicated team.
